FAQ
Questions, answered plainly
For business owners
- What does FinRoster do?
- It's being built to take one description of your bookkeeping need, find independent firms that suit it, and help you compare up to three on scope, tools, pricing approach and who you'd work with. Today it's a prototype: nothing is sent.
- Who actually does the bookkeeping?
- The independent firm you choose. FinRoster doesn't do bookkeeping, employ bookkeepers for you, or give accounting, tax, lending or insurance advice.
- Who will contact me, and how many?
- In the live service, up to three firms — only after you consent — by your preferred method. Sometimes fewer or none fit; we'd tell you rather than send you to anyone.
- Do I need QuickBooks?
- No. QuickBooks Online or Desktop, Xero, spreadsheets or nothing set up yet are all fine. Many firms set up software as part of the work.
- How is pricing set?
- Directly between you and the firm. Firms usually quote after reviewing your volume and how far behind the books are. FinRoster doesn't set their prices.
- Who pays FinRoster?
- Our proposed model is that bookkeeping firms pay for requests they receive. Commercial terms are not finalized. Pricing for business owners, if any, would be published before launch. If paid arrangements ever affected which firms are shown, we would disclose it.
- What if the fit is wrong?
- In the planned service you'd tell us, with the reason, and a person would review it. We don't promise a guaranteed re-match or response time.
- Can you help me find a bookkeeping job?
- No. FinRoster isn't a job board and doesn't recruit or place employees or contractors.
- Do I have to send financial documents?
- Not to FinRoster. The first request collects basic business details only. You share records only with a firm you choose to engage.
- Do you use AI?
- Not in this prototype.
For bookkeeping firms
- What are firms buying?
- Proposed: bookkeeping lead opportunities, clearly labelled as a basic request, a verified lead or a confirmed appointment. Prices and shared/exclusive terms are agreed in writing; none are final.
- How are firms approved?
- Manually, based on services, credentials, coverage, capacity and fit with open categories. Nothing is being delivered during the prototype stage.
